What's in a (blog) name?

Books, Interrupted was a long-time coming. For many years, this blog existed under the title <Insert Creative Title Here> as a nod to my inability and unwillingness to commit to a single topic because there are so many different interests one can have - why limit yourself? The tagline "I'm a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar" referenced my Browncoat status and love for cinema. I founded the blog as a college student in 2008, as a casual way to publicly share my random musings, with fleeting focuses on film reviews, college life, poetry, and family.

The blog remained intermittently active for many years until mid-late 2016 when I buckled down and started reading and writing more often after reading Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Then one autumn evening during a brainstorming session, Books, Interrupted suddenly popped into my head. Books comes from my love of reading and a nod to my book club membership and reputation of rarely finishing a book in time for a discussion due to my 5-8 book currently reading list. I'm always interrupting my reading with various other interests that you'll see portrayed in posts about poetry, inspiration, and nature. Those also interrupt other creative projects (like scrapbooking and journaling) that are ongoing, and those projects may or may not appear in posts.
